Coffee Filter Pom Poms

Happy Friday everyone! I hope everyone is getting excited for the weekend festivities with family and friends!

I am pumped to be posting my first blog! I have been all talk about making a blog for a long time and FINALLY I have my own blog {it only took me a year ;) }. I recently have been changing my displays & decor around our house for Spring {well..Spring is my excuse} and I was feeling like I needed a change above our large mirror in the living room. I saw a picture where someone had made a Pom Pom out of cupcake liners and then I got inspiration to make a Pom Pom out of….coffee filters! This could be fun, right? It is a frugal lovers beauty to find out this project would only take under $10 to make! All you need is a styrofoam ball {any size that you prefer}, 1 package of 200 count coffee filters and glue {I used my dear friend the glue gun}.

Okay, now to the good stuff….

Fold the coffee filter into thirds as seen…

{By the way, excuse the yellow paint on my hand….I’m a spray painting fool}

In the last picture you can see that I folded up the bottom to where it makes a triangle. Glue the bottom side of the triangle and press onto the styrofoam ball.

Repeat over and over until ball is covered.

{Almost there……}

Done! Woo-hoo!!

Ohhh the possibilities you could do with these…I love it! When you make this project you will see that once you put the coffee filters on the styrofoam ball it actually doubles it in size! I LOVE the effect it gives :) I loved it so much I ended up making three of them to hang above our mirror {Overboard?..nahh} Here it is….

I can’t wait for you all to make them and tell me where you displayed them!

Happy Easter!

  1. Hi. I love your blog and I’ve found it so helpful. I have a big favor to ask…I made your recipe eczema cream awhile back for my mother. She suffers from eczema and psoriasis all over and your cream has really helped! She’s running out and needs some more. Plus, I have friends asking me for some too. I went onto your blog and its not there anymore! I know you’ve revamped and everything, the website looks great! But if you could post this recipe again sooner than later I would be greatly appreciative. Thank you for all you do!
