Chalk it up

The weather is GORGEOUS here! Getting ready to head off to a cookout with my family today. I know many of you are spending this Memorial Day with your fam as well..enjoy!!! :)

In the spirit of Memorial Day, I wanted to thank ALL of the men and women who have served our country! I can say for everyone that we are proud and appreciative of all the hard work you have done and continuously do! I’m thankful we have wonderful people out there who are strong enough to want to take on this rewarding but tough task/job. I know I am not cut out for it :-/ So once again, THANK YOU!!!

My last post was on adding a little nook to a girls room. Along with the nook I have added a chalkboard wall. {Once again, I’m sure you think I’m crazy because she is too young to understand it BUT for now her daddy and I can write notes to our girl until she comprehends writing.} :)

We purchased Valspar chalkboard paint at Lowes. It was approximately $14 for a smaller can but it goes a longgg way {you’d be surprised} so it is well worth it. Here is the process….

{{Measured out how high I would like it to go and started putting the tape there, then along the edges and bottom.}}

{{Now, time to paint. Slathered it on!}}

{{Letting it dry….waiting….ate dinner…..came back….}}

{{Finally! –>Pulled off the tape and done-zo! One more Quick and EASY way for a child to enjoy their room even more.}}

Alright DIY-er’s…. I want to hear what projects you’re working on!

Have a GREAT weekend :) :)
