DIY {Braided} Rag Rug

I’m very excited to share this project but let me tell you folks, this is not for the faint of heart. 😉 It’s not necessarily difficult as much as it is time consuming. The end result is worth it though so hang in there! Check out the how to…

Items needed:

  • Long scraps of fabric {I used old sheets, sweatshirts, shirts and pillowcases}
  • Scissors
  • Needle & thread
  • Aaaaand patience 😉

How to:

I used a great tutorial via! Thanks to this blogger I was able to create my first rag rug! Be sure to click the link to find full instructions.

Side Note: The only thing I did different is instead of “threading” my rug together with scraps of fabric, I actually would go through about every 5-7 inches or so and would sew together the “layers” of the rug. Either way is fine to do it though!

Progress is happening in the nursery! Now we just need to install the hardwood floors and get rid of this spotty old carpet…ASAP! 😀

{{I would love to see all of your rag rugs you create so please tag me in your photo {@DIYconfessions} on INSTAGRAM!}}

Have a great day!
